If you’ve never done hypnotherapy before, I’m guessing you have questions. Maybe some real ones, and maybe a few you’re almost embarrassed to ask, like “am I going to cluck like a chicken” or “what if I get stuck under hypnosis and can’t get back out.”

You will not lose control, and you will not be unconscious.

First of all, you are always in control. You can come out of the hypnosis at any time, and I’m never asking you to do anything (other than perhaps answer questions) while in hypnosis.

Hypnosis isn’t sleep, and it isn’t the stage-show version where someone’s handing over the keys to their brain. You’re awake, aware, and fully able to hear everything, stop the session, or talk to me at any point. It’s closer to that state right before you fall asleep, or the zoned-out feeling you get driving a familiar route and suddenly realizing you don’t remember the last five minutes.

If you’ve ever done a guided meditation and felt like you were “somewhere else”…that’s what hypnosis should feel like.

And you’ll always be in control.

Here’s what actually happens

We start by talking. Before we do any hypnosis or tapping, I want to know what’s actually going on, what you’re carrying, what keeps showing up in your life on repeat, what you’ve already tried that hasn’t worked. This part matters more than people expect. I’m not working off a script, I’m working off you.

From there, depending on what’s coming up, we might do EFT tapping first, that’s the technique where you tap specific points on your body while naming what’s actually true for you in the moment (yes, even the uncomfortable stuff). It sounds strange until you feel how fast it can shift something that’s been stuck for years.

Then we move into the hypnosis itself. I guide you into that relaxed, focused state, and we go find the actual root of what’s running the pattern, not just the surface thought, but where it got wired in. Sometimes that’s a specific memory. Sometimes it’s more of a felt sense, a belief your body’s been holding onto since childhood. Either way, we’re not managing the symptom. We’re going after the source.

How you leave a session:

Most people leave a session feeling lighter, like something that’s been quietly running in the background finally got turned off. Not because we talked about it more. Because we changed it.

That’s the real difference between this work and just processing things in your head over and over. You’re not thinking your way out of an old pattern. You’re rewiring it.
